Brief Introduction of Yicheng

Yicheng is located at the northwest of Hubei province and middle reaches of Hanjiang river.The city has a total a rea of 2,110 square kilometers including the already established Urban area of 14 square kilometers,and a total population of 5.60 million including the Urban population of 1．50 million．Yicheng has eight towns，two neigbour—hood offices,an industrial park and a provincial economic development zone．It is one of the main grain production counties(cities)，as well as advanced city of basic education，advanced city of culture，model city of science populization，advanced city of the home，the health and civilized city of Hubei province and the double—support model city．From 2006 to 2007，it enjoyed the reputation of“one of the top 1 00 most investment potential cities in China”. In 2006 , 2007and 2008，we successfully held the triathlon championship.

Long history and culture．Yicheng was built in the third year of Hanhui emperor(1 92BC)，more than ten Chu emperors lived in Yicheng city and it was the capital of kingdom Chu for 185 years，and the relics of Yicheng have made the famous reservation．One of the famous writers called Song Yu was born in Yicheng，his 16 well一known books made great impression on generations of people．It is also the place where General Zhang Zizhong，an Anti—Japanese war hero，donated  his life．On May 16th，1 940，he and his soldiers fought against Japanese invaders in Changshan of Yicheng，and finally donated his life as the top general who died in the Anti—Japanese War．The memorial Hall and the monument has been built in Yicheng．

Superior traffic and location．Located in the hinterland of China，Yicheng connects north and south，east and west，and the transportation of all kinds is very  convenient  Hanjiang  River runs th rough the city and can bear 500-ton ship to reach the Changjing River directly．Railway lines of Jiaoliu crossing in Yicheng and there is one bus station  and three cargo stations．The later can take more than 1 00 million tons．Jinxiang express which has two exits intertwins with Hanyi road．Yiyuan road through the east to west．It only takes 40 minutes to arrive in the Xiangfan airport，and there are flights among Beijing Guangzhou．Shenzhen and so on．

 Rich products and resources．There are 14 kinds of prospected mineral, among which “5 stones,3 soils and 1 water”is the most abundant with highly qualxty．Concentrated origin and easy development．5 stones that is，phosphate rock．Dolomite,limestone marble and silica．3 soils that is，al vanaclium soil，refractory clay and run—expanding soil.One water that is，mineral water．And al vanadium is the unique mineral in Hubei province with  high aluminum．Silicon and law ivon．The storage quatity of refractory is the biggest throughout the country．And Huayan temple owns one of the top eight best mineral water in China．What’s mo re，Yicheng has rebound agriculture resouvce，it has arble land of 760，000 mu，forestland of 1，170，000 mu，grass land of 100，000 mu，and water land of 425，000 mu．
